How do we perform our TPS checks?
We screen your list of Landlines and/or mobiles automatically and securely against the TPS list, which is updated daily.
We will return your original data list with the TPS information appended, detailing if the number is on the TPS and the date the number appeared on the TPS list.
Why is it important to check against the TPS?
There are currently over 23 million numbers registered on the TPS and cold calling any of these numbers could result in a fine of up to £500,000. The ICO who issue these fines are actively pursuing companies that do not check their numbers against the TPS.
In short, you must make sure that you are calling only numbers you are allowed to.

How does the Telephone Preference Service operate?
The TPS operates on the basis that UK consumers register to opt out of receiving marketing calls. Failure by your company to suppress against the TPS is monitored by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and the ICO.
How often should you screen against the TPS register?
You are legally obliged to check your numbers every 28 days to make sure any new subscribers are removed from your lists. You can do this through our TPS checking service via either API (Application Programming Interface) or bulk upload via our web portal.
